Addressing School Transportation Issues

The Brandywine School District is attempting to address bullying, assault and bus transportation issues in a big hurry after a 7-year-old girl was severely beaten by a fifth-grade student on a school bus. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon and was captured on video by another student using a cell phone. According to media reports, school administrators did not even become aware of the incident until Monday morning when the girl's mother confronted them.
Lessons
Be Proactive: Don't let an incident drive your security practices. Review & develop them now!
Involve students: Solicit information as often as possible.
Collaborate: Involve a diverse group of stakeholders.
How are you handling these kinds of issues? What are your thoughts and suggestions?
